Because we are helping to build the future with our clients, Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. understands the importance of protecting our environment. We are committed to performing all work in ways that minimize environmental impacts and to comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations pertaining to construction activities and pollution prevention.

Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. has worked on several LEED-certified projects. Many of our staff have completed successive LEED courses. For a project seeking LEED certification, Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. will prepare a report showing how we’ve reduced, re-used and recycled throughout our client’s project. This can range from crushing and re-using old concrete to stripping out rebar for recycling. We have worked on marquis LEED projects, including the City of Calgary’s Water Centre with Dominion Construction, and Centennial with PCL Construction.

Professional Excavators & Construction Inc.’s newer, well-maintained excavation fleet has a much smaller carbon footprint than some of its competitors’ fleets. About 80 percent of our excavators and gravel trucks are powered by low-emission engines, which significantly reduce CO2 emissions per hour of operation compared to standard engines. As we continue to upgrade our excavators and gravel trucks, the percentage of our fleet using high-efficiency engines will increase and the greenhouse gas emissions from our operations will further decrease.

For projects near occupied buildings, Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. can equip its equipment’s exhaust systems with scrubbers to reduce the emissions entering a building’s heating and ventilation systems.

Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. recycles all heating and motor oil, cardboard, plastic drums and containers, lumber and scrap metal.
